What we can help with:

Revision:

Looking for some help with revising the material you've learnt? Reach out using the forum below; we'd love to see where you need some help and go through the difficult topic. (Aren't they all?!) Some things we'll do with you:

  • Meet up with you! In-person revision is the best way to learn.

  • Initially, identify the topic that's difficult using the forum above

  • Discuss study techniques that suit you.

  • We'll incorporate flash cards, mind maps, diagrams and different exercises to help you understand that area.

Multiple Choice Question Prep: â€‹

Oh God... The MCQs are coming around, and I am terrified...

Don't be!

We want to help get you through those exams. They seem scary initially, but as they say, "Practice makes perfect!" We will explain what will happen on the day and what to expect. We'll also run through our own MCQ questions we've made up based on the current CPGs. Lets talk about what we'll cover:

  • Meet up with you! In-person revision is the best way to learn.

  • Initially, identify the topic that's difficult using the forum above

  • We will prepare a mock exam (Not real MCQ questions, based on the current CPGs)

  • Go over areas where you feel you might not be strong in.

  • Go through some strategies on reading, interpreting and answering the MCQs (Being dyslexic myself, we can talk you through how we'd recommend you approach them)

  • Identify ways of managing stress and anxiety throughout the exam.

Objective Structured Clinical Examination Prep:

Ugh the OSCEs, possibly the most dreaded, scary and stressful part of the EMT Exam cycle.

These exams appear terrifying. Especially if this is something you've been working towards for a long time. But, it doesn't need to be. We want to take the fear out of the OSCEs and have you comfortable walking into that room and nailing your exam. Let's look at some of the things we cover below:

  • Meet up with you! In-person revision is the best way to learn.

  • Talk through the OSCEs and identify an area where you might be struggling, and nail it down with you.

  • Provide some study supports and worksheets to help you practice the OSCEs at home.

  • We will set your expectations for what to expect on the day.

The EMT OSCE Prep Guide

This guide has been created based on our own experience going through the EMT OSCEs as well as first-hand accounts from other students who have sat the exam. Within this booklet, there is:

  • Breakdown of all OSCEs and the marks required to pass them.

  • Which OSCEs some students may struggle with compared to others.

  • Breakdown of each OSCE and some simple advice on each one.

  • A tally page to help you keep track of which OSCEs you have practised and which ones need attention.

  • A breakdown of the day from the students' perspective and how you can expect things to progress.

All this information is guidance & advice from past students compiled into one place for you, so hopefully, the day will be a little less stressful in the end.
